Before starting the challenge I lacked the motivation and discipline to execute specific physical, relational, and spiritual goals I had been wanting to pursue consistently in my daily life. Physically, though I usually found time to work out, my schedule and commitment to the time I made for the gym was all over the place. The motivation Dead Men Walking supplied was provided through the community of men working towards the same goals and keeping each other accountable for doing so. I flipped my schedule, and by the end of the 42 days I was waking up consistently at 5:00 every morning and crushing my gym goals. Relationally, I love the people around me, but building my friendships intentionally wasn’t usually on the forefront of my mind. Being a part of Dead Men Walking made constantly think of how I could encourage other men in my life daily, and how I could foster and grow those relationships regularly. Spiritually, my time with lord was daily, but I usually felt I wasn’t getting the quality of time I wanted. The men in Dead Men Walking challenged me to block out the same time every day that I could count on to spur on and grow consistently in Christ. I was encouraged every day by men who truly loved the Lord and wanted to see each other succeed and go deeper with Christ daily. I can’t wait for the Beta class of the Dead Men Walking Challenge.
